These are my friends and I love them….
While I was in Los Angeles a few weeks ago I squeaked in an engagement shoot for two amazing people, Juan (the first professional photographer in my life and go to for all things photography/design related) and Martha (his amazingly sweet other half that gets down in the world of Marketing for Chinese Laundry). They’ve known each other since the awkward High School days, and over the last year fell deep! The two will wed on Saturday, January 13th in quaint court house wedding with 19 of their closest loved ones. Best wishes, love, and hugs to you two! xoxoxo

Last Friday I had the pleasure of spending the sunny afternoon at the park with baby Nolen who is now a whopping 8 months old I couldn’t believe how much he has grown and developed into his own little person since our shoot last summer {here}.

Sofi | Los Angeles Portrait Photographer

Last weekend I had an amazingly jam packed schedule of shoots in and around Los Angeles, during our time there Monster and I stayed at my friend, Sofi’s home in Long Beach with her sweet little doggies (Curly and Daisy). You may remember this session I shot here with Curly and Monster. My three shoot per day (crazy) schedule gave us little time to kick back and have girl time, though the dogs (even Monster) had their time at a fabulous spa day. So on our final evening we harnessed up the dogs ready for a walk, and raced the setting sun to the waters edge for a fun little portait session.

Bike Shop + Dinner | My Life

Last weekend we took a quick trip to visit Derek owner of Hood Ride Phoenix Bike Shop, the neighborhood backyard bike shop for a chain fix and spoke tightening. It was my first trip to Hood Ride I should have known that it being a cool spot in Downtown Phoenix it would probably be within a residential house/back yard, some of my favorite spots to eat and kick it in Downtown are residential houses turned business JOBOT Coffee, The Lost Leaf, and Roosevelt Tavern. The front yard had beautiful fresh squash, egg plant, tomatoes and herbs almost ready to be eaten. There is a side gate that takes you down a lifted wooden path, a trusty pen built of metals bike scraps keep some very friendly chickens contained, the back becomes a controlled chaotic combination of bike fixing, parts, accessories, and surprisingly a super cool cafe thats in the works to open January 2012 with awesome lounge and meeting spots.

Later we hit Ranch Market and Sprouts for bags full of vegetables for our vegan asada, mesquite wood and everything. So much good!

Parque Libertad | My Life

Living in Phoenix, Monster and I have taken up a new running route and it includes passing a few rather large empty lots – needless to say if you’ve spent any time in downtown Phoenix you’d know there are more than a couple empty plots of land, some that are awkwardly in the middle of a residential community or surrounded by local businesses. Today was a really exciting day for one lonely plot of land near 10th Street and Roosevelt, many amazing neighbors, youth, community activists, artists, and residents joined together to clean, restore, and plant an urban sonoran botanical pop-up garden.

He was in town working a summer in Maine. She was working her way through college serving up pints of Samuel Adams and Lobster rolls at the local Tavern he became a frequent customer to. -For more reasons than good food and beverage!

The two feel deep in their fun summer love, Summer came to an end and it was time for Greg to fly South for his next work opportunity in the Florida Keys. They planned a couple weekend visits and piled up the cell phone minutes, until Katie made up her mind and without holding her breathe lept in with both feet, packed her bags and waved her sweet little home in Maine goodbye. A couple years have gone by since that sweet summer in Maine, and now they are planning their small intimate 2012 autumn wedding in Massachusetts with close friends and family.
